My back keeps getting sore. A month ago, I was practising jumps into a sand pit to work on technique. I guess my body wasn't used to being high up in the air and my back was really sore for a while. It got worse as I practised front flips so I stopped doing physical activities for a couple of weeks. Every now and then my back gets sore and it prevents me from practising. A couple of days ago, I was exercising and doing unweighted squats. My back and legs were really sore the next day and now only my back is sore today. I cant see a doctor or anything so what should I do to make it stop?

If it is the lower part of your back, then I know how you feel. I had the same problems about a year ago. Relax and take it easy until you back feels good again. Make sure to go easy on back stretches, but don't stop stretching entirely. If you don't stretch injured muscles, then they will take longer to heal. Also, your range of motion won't be as large as it used to. So stretch out your back whenever you get the chance. Remember, easy does it, that's from experience.

Once your back is fully healed, begin to work on back strengthening exercises. This is to prevent further injury. I'm not knowlegdable in stretches or exercises, butan example of a back exercise/ machine to strengthen your back is to use a roman chair. I'm not too sure how it works, but it gets the job done well from what I hear. Remember to take it easy strengthening too. If you push yourself to hard, you'll end up hurting your back again and that sucks more than an engagement with a tonberry.

Hope it goes well!

Getting sore is part of exercising. If you use a muscle more than it is used to, it'll be sore for a while afterwards (usually for the next few days). As you get stronger, it will get less sore and eventually not get sore. Unless, you exercise at an even higher level. Be sure to get enough rest and nutrition between workouts. You may want to consider alternating hard training days and lighter training days to help give your body time to adapt to the training.

However, you need to differentiate between soreness from exercise, and soreness/pain from injury. Injury from pain is different and it indicates that you should rest and let it heal. There are so many different kinds of injuries that it is difficult to describe them all here. You may want to ask some athlete friends about the pain you are having. If you are injured, you need to stop and rest the injured body part. If it is not too central (e.g. a finger injury or a hand), you can work on training the other parts of your body until the injury is healed. That way, the other parts of your body don't lose progress while you wait for the injury to heal.

I know that soreness is a common part of exercising but this pain has been going on for a long time.

It sounds like you may be overtraining or your form may be incorrect. Front flips can really stress your back especially if your landings aren't well controlled. But that goes for any landing.

You're back is sore from unweighted squats...that's kinda of strange. Usually people get back pain from poor form on weighted squats. Nevertheless, try getting somebody to watch your form - maybe there is something wrong there. Also, it may be worth working on some core exercises to strengthen your back and abs so you don't get hurt so easily. Supermans (back arches while lying on your stomach) and crunches (both upper and lower ab versions) tend to work well.

If you're not getting better after resting for a while, that is a good reason to go see your doctor who will be able to provdie you with medical advice based on your condition. Back pain is not something you want to take lightly as it can be very debilitating.

I went to a physio a couple months ago and it provided relief when not doing wushu. But I had to quit wushu a couple of months ago and now I'm seeing a chiropractor because I want this to heal before I start doing olympic lifting and get back into tricking.

Well it's been a long time and I have to get more scans. I hope this thing isn't fucking permanent because then I'll have nothing to do in life besides sitting around and not doing martial arts or weight lifting.

I suggest you to stop this game if it would give you soreness in your back ang legs, because if you didn't practice than usually this can happened.
